The book is about Emma, a beautiful and spoiled girl whom Austen described as "a heroine whom no one but myself will much like." However Emma was almost as popular as her other novels and her flawed character makes for a good coming of age story. Emma was the last of Austen's books to be published during her lifetime. She has recited other British tales like Nanny McPhee, The Big Bang, The Further Tales of Peter Rabbit and Austen's Northanger Abbey.
Emma won't be Thompson's first audio-book. The script won her the Academy Awards for Best Adapted Screenplay on winning the award she even gave a speech on Jane Austen's perspective of the whole evening.
